Chef versus restaurant: the honest math.
For two people, the restaurant usually wins. Somewhere around six, the math turns. Here is the arithmetic, honestly done.
The group-of-six comparison
Six at a top Honolulu dining room: $150–$200 a head before wine, plus marked-up bottles, two rideshares, and a table that turns at nine. Six at home on the Signature band: $125–$190 a guest, your own wine at retail, no turn time, and the conversation never competes with the next table.
What the chef version adds
A menu written for your table, dietary protocols handled by design, and a kitchen left clean. What it does not add: a view you do not already have, and a sommelier — though the bar cart covers the pouring.
